Energy Pool
Energy Pool is the size and steadiness of your actual fuel supply, not how hard you are willing to try.
It shows up in whether energy is there when you planned for it. This is the resource the whole rest of the system spends, so when it is low or unstable everything downstream gets harder at once.
The range
- Lower
- The supply is volatile. Output can come in bursts followed by outsized crashes, and you cannot reliably predict capacity from conditions, so planning across a week becomes guesswork.
- Higher
- Energy is steady and distributes across time, so effort can be paced with fewer spikes and crashes. The cost is a tendency to push past real limits because the floor rarely warns you.
What it is not
- Not recovery
- Energy Pool is the shape of the drain while life is happening. Recovery Rate is how well you refill after the drain bottoms out. One is the curve, the other is the rebuild.
- Not effort cost
- Energy Pool is the resource you actually have. Effort Cost is how expensive action feels. You can have fuel and still feel a task as expensive, or feel little cost while genuinely running low.
I am not lazy and I am not unreliable. My supply just does not hold the way other people seem to assume theirs does.
