Idea Fusion is not comparing two ideas. It is melting them together into a new one.

When concepts from two different worlds are active at the same time, this dial governs whether they merge into a single hybrid: a metaphor, a model, the sudden sense that two things are actually the same underlying structure.

The range

Lower
Ideas keep their category boundaries, and crossing domains takes slow, deliberate effort. That buys real clarity and category discipline; analysis stays clean because you know what belongs where. The cost is that hybrid insight is rare and analogical problem-solving never feels natural.
Calibrated (middle)
The sweet spot. Blends form readily when the structural parallel is genuinely there, metaphors come naturally and stay coherent, and the hybrid serves the thinking without unusual effort to build or to explain.
Higher
Blends arrive fast, spontaneous, and uninvited, which fuels genuinely original framing. At this end they also arrive faster than they can be checked: a fusion can feel like a discovery while being only a coherent-seeming approximation, obvious inside your head and disorienting to everyone else.

What it is not

Not Idea Web
Idea Web is the wealth of the network, how much connected material is available. Idea Fusion is what builds a new composite out of that material. One is network wealth; the other is hybrid generation.
Not organizing
Fusion merges two schemas into one new object. Organizing assembles many elements into a coherent whole while keeping the parts distinguishable. One melts; the other arranges.

These two things are actually the same underlying structure. I can see it. Explaining it is the hard part.
